Who is Muffin Works?
Muffin Works is run by two brothers, Scott & Jason Marcott. We run this
business outside
of our normal day jobs. Scott owns/operates a
tool & die business.
Jason is an Electrical Engineer. We run
this business because we are true snowmobile enthusiast.
We enjoy the sport, and are proud to support it.
How did we get started?
We started our business in 2006 when looking for ways to
improve and accessorize our own sleds. We either had
difficultly finding what we wanted, or the market didn’t offer
it. So we began making our own parts. It didn’t take long
for others to notice what we were doing, and had asked if
we could make items for them as well. Thus our business
was born.

How did you come up with the name Muffin Works?
The Muffin Works name has an unusual start to it, and goes back a number of years. Scott’s wife likes to call him ‘Muffin’. Now whereas this isn’t an abnormal thing for a married couple, how the nickname was used is very humorous.
Our two families enjoy a doing a number of activities together. Other than snowmobiling, downhill skiing is one of them. Scott’s wife was on the chair lift while we had been heading down the run (a double-black-diamond run). To get Scott’s attention, simply yelling out “Scott” wouldn’t work. But screaming out “Muffin” definitely gets everyone’s attention. From there on, Scott was given a very hard time about his nickname, “Muffin”. Scott knows better than to simply get mad … he gets even … and he even gets ahead.
Paintball is another activity that was enjoyed by our friends. Team jerseys were even made up for the occasional competition. Well, Scott had his nickname “Muffin” stitched on his jersey. Let us tell you, it is quite embarrassing to be shot, and taken out of the game by someone named “Muffin”.
But what really solidified the name was when Scott had machined a special set of billet aluminum wheels for Jason’s sled. Again, Scott likes to get even. So as a joke, he had etched the name “Muffin Works LTD” in the outer rim of the wheels. The name had stuck and it has been that way ever since. |
